“Hattuşa in UNESCO's 30th Anniversary" Project Discussed

Boğazkale Governor Osman Aydogan, Special Provincial Administration Secretary General Ömer Arslan, Boğazkale Mayor Osman Tangazoğlu, Provincial Culture and Tourism Director Ali Özüdoğru, Çorum Museum Director Dr. Önder İpek and OKA(Middle Black Sea Development Agency) Provincial Coordinator Özden Özgür Yalçın visited our Rector Prof. Dr. Reha Metin Alkan. 

Within the context of visit, the project titled “Hattuşa in UNESCO's 30th Anniversary" handled by Boğazkale District Governorship in relation to 30th Anniversary of access to the UNESCO World Heritage List of Hattuşa located in Boğazkale, Çorum.

The project “Hattuşa in UNESCO's 30th Anniversary" will contribute to the cultural tourism of Çorum which has an important place in the history of civilization with long history and rich culture of our country.

Hattuşa, the capital of Hitit which established the first organized government in Anatolia and has cultural data of 7 thousand years ago is one of 9 values in Turkey which has been admitted to the list of World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. There are convenient places for mountain tourism, hunting tourism, trekking and cycling tours especially ruins like Boğazköy-Hattuşa, Alacahöyük and Ortaköy-Şapinuva in Çorum which is the center of Hitit Civilization. This project aims to step the culture and tourism values which have high value-added potential forward.
