Within the frame of 2023, 2053 and 2071 visions of Turkey, Hitit University has been continuing to develop itself with the quantitative and qualitative growth and accordingly, with the slogan of "The Special State University" the number of students as well as the academic and administrative staff has been increasing. 17,778 students in total – 7329 of whom are associate, 8981 of whom are bachelor and 1468 of whom are graduate degrees (master and doctorate) – are studying in the academic units which include 3 Institutes, 8 Faculties, 3 Schools, and 7 Vocational Schools.
Prof. Dr. Reha Metin Alkan expressed his content saying that the sharp increase in the number of the students was very pleasing in terms of university-city interaction and integration. Prof. Dr. Alkan continues to say “The important thing is a healthy growth of this increase. When we took office five years ago, we targeted between 17,000-18,000 students and thanked God that we fully reached our destination. Between the years of 2011 and 2016, 87 % increase in the number of students has never occurred accidentally, but rather it has been a part of our university’s targets for so long”.
With the slogan of “Distinguished City, World University”, our university has been continuing to expand its its international horizons by signing inter-institutional agreements with a great deal of countries. Our university has bilateral agreements with 71 universities from 29 countries, Mevlana Protocols with 59 universities from 22 countries, Erasmus+ Agreements with 28 universities from 14 countries. In international arena, our university has 158 academic agreements with 126 universities from 47 countries in total.
142 international students from different 32 countries are continuing their studies at our university. For the first time in 2013, 294 students from 15 countries applied to our university to study and 23 of them enrolled and started their studies at our university. This year, 1031 students from 54 different countries have applied to our university and 40 of them from 15 countries have completed their registration procedures. The number of international students has reached 142.
