Our Anthropology Laboratory is Developing

Carrying out studies to offer education and research activities in places equipped with modern necessities, our University attaches great importance to establish new laboratories or develop existing ones.  

Within this framework our Rector Prof. Dr. Reha Metin Alkan visited Anthropology Department and got information about the studies conducted, he emphasized the importance of Anthropology Department which is a rare and challenging field and studies for establishing a comprehensive laboratory in the department has begun.

Expressing that our city hosted civilizations throughout history has potential for many studies, Prof. Dr. Alkan stated that Anthropology Department may conduct studies in collaboration with different institutions of our city. Our Rector Prof. Dr. Reha Metin Alkan said, “New Anthropology Department will prepare substructure for such studies. So, better opportunities will be provided for researchers and our students.”

Stating that Anthropology Department accepted first students in 2015-2016 academic year, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Tolga Çırak, Head of Anthropology Department gave detailed information about the department expressing that excavation works have been continuing in various parts of Turkey and academic studies will go on intensively with the new Anthropology Laboratory.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Çırak stated that in the broadest sense, Anthropology is known as “human science” and the most important aim of Anthropology is to work out biological and cultural diversity of human beings throughout the process of the societies from past to present.
