The project for the mosque has been started by determining the area of the university mosque after the recently concluded negotiations in accordance with Religious Affairs.
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Reha Metin Alkan, Çorum Deputy and Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Affairs Commission Member Ahmet Sami Ceylan, the Deputy Mayor Zeki Gül, Provincial Mufti Dr. Ahmet Akın and Çorum President of the Chamber of Commerce Çetin Başaranhıncal made a pitch inspection and decided to start the mosque project. Meanwhile, they got information about the ongoing construction in North Campus.
Çorum Deputy and Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Affairs Commission Member Ahmet Sami Ceylan says “The necessary budget for the mosque is being sent by the government and I would like to thank Minister of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Mehmet Görmez for the supports to the mosque which will be constructed in North Campus. I also believe that charitable people in Çorum will contribute to the mosque, as well. I especially thank our Rector Prof. Dr. Reha Metin Alkan for his hard work and wish continued success.”
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Reha Metin Alkan thanked Ahmet Sami Ceylan and Religious Affairs for their supports to the construction of the mosque in the North Campus. At the same time, Prof. Dr. Alkan stated that our university mosque would have a capacity of approximately 3,000 people and he was glad to present befitting the youth, modern, and functional mosque.
